The amount [!] of time that we have never changes, but our perception of time always does. And whichever way we look at it, it is our best capital. This is something an entrepreneur knows better than most. It is not just a matter of how well one spends it, that is, how time wasted is minimized. The challenge lies in spending it judiciously, ensuring results that are effective and fruitful. All other resources that define a successful enterprise can take a back seat. The decisive role is always played by time.
And rightly so. If there is one lesson that entrepreneurs in and from the Silicon Valley, the place that has defined and shaped modern entrepreneurship, have disseminated, it is this unique importance of time. It is considered the most significant basic characteristic that entrepreneur must have. Each second counts.
How judiciously we spend time differs from person to person. For example, it is said that JRD Tata would spend only about two hours a day at Bombay House, taking care of Tata Group of companies. We all know how effective he was. There is no right or wrong way of using time. The only defining element is how judiciously it is used.
