THEN:
On a visit to Punjab in 2006, Harpreet realised that competent students in tier II, III cities were lagging behind just because the MNCs and corporates don’t see them. He and Vibhore solved this by connecting 17,000 colleges for online campus recruitment. CoCubes comes
from the first two letters of the three words: connecting, colleges and companies.
NOW:
CoCubes, headquartered in Gurgaon, has an impressive turnover of Rs351 lakh, six branches and 58 employees.
ABOUT HARPREET AND VIBHORE:
They were first year roommates at IIT Mumbai. Vibhore worked for a couple of years at Microsoft while Harpreet worked in a data analysis firm called Inductis.
SMARTEST MOVE:
Last year, they firmed up the business model and began
charging institutions for getting their students employed. Also, they temporarily shifted focus from MBA graduates to engineering, which helped CoCubes leap from a Rs 48 lakh turnover in 2008 to Rs 351 lakh in 2011.
BIGGEST LESSON LEARNED ALONG THE WAY:
“Just stay focused on your vision, and the tough times will pass.”
