Junglee is back. In 1998, the media was agog with a new web software company started by Anand Rajaraman, Venky Hariharan and Ashish Gupta which allowed a user to shop online searching a virtual database, comparing prices and features. It powered many websites including Yahoo! in that time. Junglee search engine technology was promptly snapped up by Amazon.
Junglee's acquisition also bequeth Amazon Ram Shriram. He was president of Junglee then.
Today, Amazon brought Junglee back making it the brand it would test Indian market with.
