The cleanup at Google continues. The latest to get the axe is Googledesktop. I was a fan of Googledesktop some four years back. Not anymore. I won't miss it anyway. Sorry but there may be thousands out there who would.
On Windows 7, the built-in search has far improved. Though I fall back on a third party tool that does a great job of searching everything I want. That's the argument Google's official blog here gives anyway:
There has been a significant shift from local to cloud-based storage and computing, as well as integration of Google Desktop functionality (like local search) into most modern operating systems.
Perhaps someone can bring up a game on which is the next service Google will shut?
