Tie smash upMove over Boot-Camps and one-sided panel discussions. TiE Mumbai now presents SmashUp – a first of its kind ‘Un-Convention’ for start-ups – a two-day event which will be packed with innovative event formats to enable start-ups meet & engage with India’s leading investors and experts in a totally informal and high-power ambience.

Here’s a sneak peak into some unique formats that SmashUp is introducing:

Speed Dating with Investors: Here are your 3 minutes to fame and perhaps, funding! 5 start-ups get to interact with each investor on each table, each getting 3 minutes and then moving on to the next table with next investor! Investors participating in this exercise include IAN, Mumbai Angels, Blume Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, Nirvana Ventures and Seedfund!

Some Highlights

Accelerator Pitch with T-Labs: Here’s your opportunity to pitch to T-Labs: an unique initiative by Indiatimes to identify some high potential internet and mobile start-ups and then pick them up for seed-funding and acceleration

Talent Hunt: An opportunity to find co-founders and team members

Start Up Black Book: An opportunity to get listed in this unique directory and reach out to all attendants at SmashUp – and communicating your team needs and other requirements

Start Up Pavilion: Take up this place and demonstrate what your start-up is all about: and get that critical first market feedback from attending investors and other participants

To add to the above, there’s also Stand Up Comic Show – to further accentuate the fun and familiarity around.

Some of the leading start-up evangelists who would be addressing the platform include Alok Kejriwal (Games2win); Vishal Gondal (Indiagames); Mahesh Murthy (Seedfund); Sameer Guglani (Morpheus).besides others.

"SmashUp is designed with the fundamental principal  in mind : Startups learn more from the success and mistakes of other startups than from someone who been there done that couple of decades ago. Hence For Startups + By Startups."

We have seen several events, but have never seen such a response in such as short time. Whoever thought startup scene in Mumbai is not at par -must visit Smashup to see for themselves. Not that we have startups coming only from Mumbai, we have smart guys from all over India as well as from other countries coming from SmashUp. Says Kanchan Kumar.
